The Challenge
Meriton Suites Canberra operates a chlorine-sanitised pool (144,000 L) and a bromine-sanitised spa (3,300 L), both requiring water quality testing twice daily under the ACT Public Health (Aquatic Facilities) Code of Practice — once by night staff before the facility opens, and again by maintenance staff in the afternoon. Testing was previously recorded on paper, creating several problems: no easy way to prove who tested the water and when if council inspectors requested records, paper logs easily lost or left incomplete, no visibility for management without physically checking the logbook, and no historical trend data to spot recurring issues.
The Solution
Meriton Suites Canberra implemented Hydro Ops to digitise their entire testing workflow. Night staff test each morning before the facility opens; maintenance staff test again each afternoon. Every result is automatically time-stamped and attributed to the staff member who logged it. The Maintenance Manager reviews results remotely each day.
